Financial Planning Around Seasons of Change

Not long ago, I helped my daughter repurpose a space in their home into a nursery.  With their first child on the way, creating a peaceful nursery filled with tiny clothes, a crib, and a rocking chair was a top priority. This experience was a meaningful and symbolic reminder of how life is constantly evolving.

I see evolution like this often in my work. A new season of life arrives, and it nudges us to reimagine not just our physical space, but our financial one too. Life evolves in many ways, and these transitions impact more than just our routines.

Whether it’s:

      • Welcoming a child
      • Experiencing a divorce
      • Losing a loved one
      • Changing careers
      • Entering retirement
      • Or becoming an empty nester

As your values and responsibilities change, your goals – and the money needed to support them – often change too.

When life shifts, so do the layers of your financial world, and it’s essential to pause and address those changes. It isn’t just about the visible adjustments, like buying a crib. It’s about reviewing the full financial picture and making sure your financial plan still fits your life. Start by asking yourself the following questions:

    1. Does my current financial plan still reflect my priorities?
    2. Are my savings, investments, and protections aligned with what’s ahead – not what’s behind?
    3. Have I planned for the emotional side of money, not just the numbers?

Adjusting with grace as life evolves is at the heart of thoughtful financial planning. Prioritize your financial peace of mind and create space for what matters most, starting now.

If you’re in a season of transition, or sense one on the horizon, now is the time to pause, reflect, and reevaluate. Make sure your finances are working with you, not simply following a plan designed for a previous chapter of life.

What season are you in?  Let’s explore it together and design a plan that supports both where you are and where you’re going next. As life shifts, your money should too, guided by purpose, care, and intention.
