Designations
Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS)- The CCPS designation is issued by the National Institute of Certified College Planners. To earn the designation a candidate must meet one of the following prerequisites:
- Professional financial certification/designation; or
- Professional financial license (securities, insurance, accounting, etc.); or
- A combination of education and experience deemed satisfactory by the NICCP Advisory Council
In addition to the prerequisites, a candidate must complete three modules totaling 18-25 hours and pass an exam for each module. (ELA) Education Loan Analyst* – The ELA designation is issued by the Association of Certified College Funding Specialists. To earn the designation, a candidate must complete an 8 hour course. The ELA course is for Certified College Funding Specialists who want to achieve more in-depth knowledge of the student loan system and how it works.
